dRef Dictionary and Thesaurus for the iPhone
September 4th, 2008The dRef Dictionary and Thesaurus is an application pending approval for distribution on the iPhone OS through the iPhone App Store.
The current description follows:
The dRef Dictionary and Thesaurus is a standalone dictionary and thesaurus for the iPhone OS. It does not require Internet access to use. The dictionary and thesaurus allows Internet free access to over 140,000 words from the WordNet 3.0 reference. The software allows you to search for a term, and displays the definitions for that term, along with synonyms for the term. The synonyms are displayed as quick links, which can be touched to reference their definition.
Features:
- Over 140,000 terms with definitions, sample sentences, and synonyms from the WordNet 3.0 dictionary.
- Quick links to the definitions of the synonyms.
- A stemmer algorithm, so if you search for the plural of a word, and only a singular version exist in the dictionary, the singular version will be matched.
- Related links to website to quickly find more information on the term you are referencing (this feature requires Internet access).
